First time to this park and yes it's lovely, but it definitely has a heavy focus on sports, as there are several ball fields. No walking trail, no covered picnic tables that one would expect at a park. The restrooms were locked when I arrived at 3pm. I guess they only unlock them during games? There is a tiny pond where I did spy both a white heron and a blue heron. That's always a treat. I was the only one there the entire time. Online says they close at 5pm, which is too early for my liking, as many parks stay open until dark/dusk, which right now is around 8:30pm. Added bonus if you're into planespotting (which I am): the myriad commercial and military planes fly very low overhead as they come in for a landing. It's fun to watch and hear the loud roar of their engines. Makes you appreciate the marvel that a person is flying that huge hunk of metal. Finally, there is a large parking lot but they've planted baby trees throughout so there is little to no shade to keep your vehicle from broiling in the sun. Bummer. I won't be alive by the time those trees reach maturity. EDIT: Despite online saying they close at 5pm (they never changed it from fall/winter hours), they actually remained open until dark, which is about 8:30pm this time of year.
