I booked a stretch and massage at Massage Envy the day after Christmas. Unfortunately, a family emergency came up, and I called to reschedule not cancel hoping for some flexibility. I was able to move the stretch earlier, but I was still charged 50% for the massage. I was told this was to pay the therapist, even though I wasn’t a no-show. While I completely understand policies, I also believe customer service should allow some empathy and discretion especially during a holiday season when life happens unexpectedly. If a therapist cancels last-minute, do customers get compensated for their time? Probably not. The stretch session itself was excellent, and my therapist was friendly and helpful. But the lack of grace from the front desk and rigid policy left me disappointed. When you’re paying premium prices, understanding and flexibility go a long way in building customer loyalty. I’d return for the service but only if their policies start to reflect care for people, not just profit.

I have gone to Massage Envy for years and have never been treated with such disrespect and disregard as I was today. After reading the fantastic reviews for Marci, I was excited to come in for my appointment with her to see if she could work out the tension in my neck and shoulders that causes migraines. I wonder if her reviews were padded by her friends and family because the service I got did not match with what I had read. I had to tell her five times that the pressure she was using was too hard, that it hurt, and after the fifth time she dug in even harder. Before the appointment even began, I explained about the tension in my neck and shoulders, the fact that I get migraines and asked that she primarily focused on those areas. She treated those areas like a rushed afterthought. This entire experience is making me second-guess having my membership with Massage Envy. I should rate this one star, but I gave it three because my other experiences have been good. This one was just really really really bad
