jennifer jordanVery cute, but small welcome center with clean bathrooms. Betty was very helpful and had great recommendations for restaurants in the area. The highlight was getting to meet Missy the shop cat who was waiting at the front door.

Juan LaraEvery tourism region in SC should have its own visitor center. Ye Olde English District, Capital City/Lake Murray Country, and the Santee-Cooper Region know this. The Santee-Cooper Center is a quaint wooden house, though it needs a better defined parking lot. Along with local brochures, the center has a beautiful aquarium of local fish, an arrowhead display, and an exhibit on the record breaking catfish. There's also a patio where you can relax. The lady working at the center is very friendly and attentive. But she needs to be more informed about the local area. I asked her questions about Orangeburg locations and downtown Santee buildings, but she didn't seem to know much.

Dianne ReardonThe attendant answered all my questions and directed me to the literature pertinent to boat rentals. She was friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of flyers/literature for Charleston area, Santee Cooper Region, Sumpter etc.
