Tonya Roland-WilsonFirst off I would like to give the team that worked on 2/1/26 a big round of applause. The manager on duty was thrown into many hats. My boyfriend and I stopped here right after the snow that came know 1/31/26. We were headed back home to Sanford NC & alot of places were closed. Well fast fwd the manager explain to everyone who came in that he was very shortstaffed & to please be patient he had 1 server, 1 cook, 1 line person & 1 dishwasher & him that took on the task to serve customers. He let us all know its a Breakfast buffet Only All day which was fine with me & everyone who decided to stay & eat. Well Rebekah did her thing as the server for the entire restaurant. She kept checking on us to make sure that we were good. The cook did his/her thing in the kitchen everything was good & the Manager didn't get his name was calm, cool & collected the entire time. My boyfriend was like aww yea we got a new stop when we travel thru. Thank you for a job Well Done Team!!! 🥰🥰🥰🫶🏾🫶🏾. I don't know how service is on other days but if they can handle a crisis as they did then they can handle anything thrown at them.

Leida NegronOn our way back to FL from NY my husband and I were searching for a southern, country-style soul food buffet restaurant on I-95. We found a few, stopped and walked right out because it was not what we wanted. I found Shoney's online and took a look at the pics as well as previous reviews. It was our first time dining at any Shoney's restaurant and we must say from the moment we walked into the establishment we were given immediate, friendly and welcoming attention. The food was better than expected so that was surely a plus! Our server was attentive, pleasant, professional and warm. She checked on us a number of times to make sure all was well. The music playing was awesome and also at a decent tone to be able to converse with your party and not feel like you have to yell over the music as we have experienced at other restaurants. The temperature was perfect at the restaurant and every staff member we interacted with was helpful in making our first experience a great one! Kudos to Shoney's and specifically this location. We are looking foward to returning along with our family and friends who frequent I-95 to and from FL. I must now search for a location in my hometown in FL. Thank you for the wonderful service and God bless you all.

Hippie ChickWe've been here twice on our way through town this weekend up to VA for our niece's wedding and now on our way back home to Florida. We used to have Shoney's in Florida - in Bradenton, even - but they closed them all YEARS ago, like 20 years ago. I was not happy then, and I do miss a good salad bar. Now that Sweet Tomatoes is closed for good, there aren't any good salad bars around. Anyway, this Shoney's had a good breakfast bar on Thursday when we came through on our way up to VA. I had ordered spaghetti, but it came with meat sauce on it, so I sent it back and asked for just noodles with cheese and it was good! Not Mac n cheese by any means. This time, Sunday, I got the buffet, which was the home style buffet. Mostly, it's fried chicken, ham, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc, but there was some awesome Mac & cheese (the real stuff), buttermilk biscuits, and peach cobbler. Then, of course, I had a HUGE salad, and it was so good! They had the pea salad, with the mayonnaise and pimentos and cheese... Yum! Then the unsweetened tea was so delicious! It was made with a special tea leaf, so flavorful. Or maybe it had cinnamon in it? Whatever it was, I could drink that tea every day.

Marie RobeckWalked in, we were greeted with a smile and 'welcome to Shoney's'. We were seated immediately. Service was great! The food was flavorful, and well seasoned. All payments are accepted, but paying with cash is probably better because there is a 3% charge. There is a menu if you don't want to eat from the buffet. Edit 9.27.25; Breakfast was great! It was a mix of breakfast and lunch. We paid in card which was $34.87, if we had paid in cash, it would have been $33.77.
