Beautiful venue, but I'll never rent this building again. It was too much complications with the individuals in the office since the day I booked this venue. On Friday, February 21, 2025, I went to pick up the key from Town Hall. The lady in the office (Mrs Mel) told me to make sure to follow all of the rules because inside the venue is being recorded with video and audio. I asked Melondie if I would be able to go take a quick look inside the venue. She told me it would not be possible because it was fully booked for Friday and Saturday. Then she told me no one booked it for Sunday morning, but her cleaning lady would be in there to clean it then her co-worker would go inspect it but they should be done by 2pm, so I can go in anytime after that. So the day of my baby shower, I went to look inside the venue at 2:28 pm. Inside looked nice but the "cleaning lady" did not clean everything that was left from the previous renter. There were bags of ice, waters bottles, etc still left in the freezer. Also, I found glue dots on the walls with green streamers paper attached like someone hung things on the walls. We were told nothing could be left behind in the venue and nothing can hang on the walls. My rental time was from 4pm-12am, and my baby shower was from 5-8 pm. I left the venue at 4:30 pm to go home so I could get dress. My sister's and niece's stayed to finish decorating. At 5:30 pm, my sister called and said a lady came bussing through the side door by the kitchen. Come to find out, it was the other lady from the office. She said she got her times mixed up and thought my rental was in the morning. (Keep in mind, she never came earlier to do the inspection like she was supposed to do. That's why so many things were wrong when I got there.) After we were done opening the presents, we started cleaning up around 9:45ish and finished cleaning up and left the building at 11:21 pm. Although, the venue was nice, I'll never rent it again. I spoke to Mel multiple times about my deposit and was told that it would be returned to me in the form of a check within 3 weeks. After I never received my check, I ended up going back to Town Hall and spoke to Mel again. This was on April 1, 2025. She pulled my file and said her coworker documented that the reason I did not get my deposit back is because the venue was not cleaned. I told her that was untrue because my family and I started cleaning the venue around 9:45 pm and didn't finish until 11:21 pm and I have videos to prove it. I also brought up how she said everything was recorded so she can go back and watch the video herself. She then told me that she was not responsible for the inspection, it was her coworker who wrote that on my documents and she would give me a call when she got in the office. Later that day her co-worker called me and she said that her cleaning lady said the venue was not cleaned. Apparently, she told her that the counters were not wipe down and the trash wasn't changed. Which I told her both was a lie because I wipe down the counters myself and my husband ran to Parkers and purchased a box of trash bags and we changed them before leaving. I told her that I have pictures of the before and after, and she told me so did she. So I told her that we both can compare pictures because my pictures/videos were taken in live time so it would match the actual videos from their cameras. After speaking to her, she told me that she would review the video footage from February 22, 2025. So I asked her why would she review the night before when I had the venue the evening of February 23, 2025? Shouldn't she be reviewing it the night that I had it and then the next morning to ensure that everything got cleaned? She then told me that her cleaning lady texted her and said she got her dates mixed up. So she would give me a callback. Well that was on April 1, 2025, and this lady still haven't called me back.

I have visited the train depot for several events. I went there two weeks ago to celebrate an acquaintance of mine 85th birthday. The Depo is a nice place to have a celebration. I especially love the wooden porch. It's wide and feels more comfortable than the inside. My best friend had her wedding and reception at the Depo. She took pictures on the porch and they came out beautifully, even with the tracks being in the back. I like the inside as well but, I wish it was wider. Since the remodel it says a much nicer kitchen. If you are having a gathering for 40-50 people, this will be a comfortable place to have it. If your group is larger, it's a tight fit.
