Mortesha JohnsonThe Mellow and Play cafe is a wonderful place that I came across via a child’s birthday party. Let me start by saying I’m not a coffee drinker because I’m allergic to coffee but I do visit other coffee establishments for their specialty drinks. I first had a Lemonade and it was good and was made from a base of freshly squeezed lemon juice. The next drink I had was their Matcha. It was outstanding and I was very impressed by their rendering of the matcha. Another parent of a birthday party participant was at the counter and she was contemplating on getting matcha or not because she’s never had it. I cautioned her against it because I have had it from 2 different well known coffee establishments and they both were nasty and tasted like they put grass in a blender. and mixed it with oat milk and gave it to me. Well Mia and Kay convinced her that their Matcha tasted much better with Vanilla and another ingredient added. They made the Matcha and let me taste the overflow from the other person’s Matcha and it was Amazingly delicious!! I ordered one for myself and even convinced another customer who just happened to come in for a beverage to get the Matcha and she was pleasantly surprised also. Mia and Kay were very customer service oriented and made the visit more enjoyable and I will definitely be back to order the Matcha and to try the other beverages because they do have an amazing selection. If you are looking for a good place to get great speciality drinks and coffee at a decent price and with great customer service please give Mellow and Play Cafe a try.
