Great local Museum with interesting exhibits, highly recommend visiting Fort Fairlawn while you're there. It's a real Revolutionary War redoubt👍👍

Mar 18, 2026 · Google ReviewAn impressive place to visit. The museum is filled with historical information and artifacts and well laid out to cover the different eras. I appreciate the inclusion of the African American presence in the exhibits. There's a section dedicated to Maude Callen a nurse and midwife that provided much needed medical care to the area residents. The museum also had information on the Black Dragoons a military unit of Black soldiers from South Carolina that fought with the British. There's also a section to recognize Felix Ferguson a local soldier who served during World War One. This is must see if you are in the area. My family and I enjoyed it and left educated on the significant contributions of South Carolinians in history.
Jul 18, 2023 · Google ReviewFantastic visit there. The Wassamassaw Indian Festival was going on that day was great visit . I hope to go back to many more festivals there. The museum was very impressive too.
Oct 27, 2023 · Google ReviewNice museum and good information. They had a movie showing in one room where the volume was so loud you could hear through the whole museum and it played over and over. Very annoying. Maybe turn that down and have it play with a button.
