Hands down the best vet in Sumter in my opinion. Thorough, professional, knowledgeable; excellent “bedside manner”. They obviously love animals and what they do and it shows. Dr. G explains things in an easy to understand manner and will even show pictures from vet care books to help explain what you’re seeing on your pet. They are thoughtful and compassionate and just everything you would want in veterinary care. 10/10? No! 100/100!!! Five stars!!!

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Gerard and Lois. I started taking my pets there about 8 years ago. I had a very sick pet and they were the only office that would see her that day. I have been taking my pets there ever since. Dr. G. Is the most thorough vet you can find. I have a sick pet right now, and he and Lois have gone above and beyond to help. My cat is doing much better due to the great care they provide, and I hope they understand how much my pets and I appreciate them! Take your pets there, and you will be glad you did!

I must say how amazing Advanced Veterinary Hospital was with treating my cat, Puddin. She was suffering from IBD and pancreatitis, and she was refusing to eat. They admitted her on a Friday afternoon late even though I had never gone there before. They hooked her up to IVs to balance her fluids and did thorough tests to actually find out why she was having the trouble as well as starting her on medicine to help the issues. The previous vet, who had seen her a month earlier, for years had just kept telling me my cat was old and old cats do these things. Puddin is now eating well and no longer in distress. She might be 14 years old, but she deserves her quality of life. My thanks to Advanced Veterinary Hospital for such quality care.

Dr. Gerard spends a lot of time with my dogs. He is knowledgeable, compassionate and helpful in sorting through my dog's allergy problems. I also know from personal experience he will go the extra mile when minor emergencies arise. Their rates are very reasonable and they will help you find rebates and discounts for medications. 100% recommend.

Dr. Gerard and Ms. Lois are phenomenal! They care very much about my pet. Dr. Gerard doesn’t sugar coat things, but that is because he wants our pet to have the best and healthiest life. They go out of their way to help. They take their time and listen and appointments are never rushed. They welcome questions and concerns. I highly recommend them. Toby, my dog, does too!
