adrianne fryBeautiful state park and one of my favorites. This is not a hotel and there are no rooms. In fact, there are no hotels on Edisto Island at all. Camping must be booked in advance because it fills up quickly. My family does day trips to the beach from Columbia and this is where we love to go. It's so beautiful and the beaches aren't crowded like you see elsewhere. We use our state park pass to pay our way in. Paying for admission to a state park is way easier than trying to find parking at Folly. Access to the beach is easy once through the gate, with paved trails until you reach the dunes. Good bathroom and changing room facilities. Outdoor showers are great for cleaning up before heading home. Come early because they will turn folks away once the parking lot is full. And you can pick up some ice cream, or more sunscreen, in the park store!

Frank BedellThey're actually two separate camp areas on Edisto Island. When is featuring beachfront camping and the other one features camping on a salt marsh not far from the beach. We were there for 6 nights and had a great time this campground is not too busy this time of year during the week but fills up on the weekend. The facilities are fine there's plenty of hot water for showers and the electrical and water hookups were excellent. There is a grocery store and gas station convenience store within walking distance, in a really good hardware store not too far away. Even when the campground was full on the weekend it was extremely peaceful and quiet. We particularly enjoyed the walking trails around the marsh and the wildlife that we saw. The park rangers there and the folks working the office were outstanding. Southern hospitality at its finest.

Heavenly Lacy BiegerEdisto beach state park was a wonderful campground! It is full of wildlife and they are really putting in their work with the sea turtles (over 120 nests while we were there). All of the bath houses I visited were very clean and in good working order. We stayed on the beach side and the walk from camp to coastline was short, they had around 10 access points along the campground. This campground is very peaceful and quiet we could even hear the waves from our site at night. Site 70b. Its full sun, but the view of the marsh is awesome.

Paul BundyStayed 3 nights in the beach campground. The site was 47 an ADA site so it was concrete and level. Not all the sites are that level so be prepared. The bathhouses are very well kept. The beach access is very easy from any of the sites. The beach is wonderful. Lots of nice shells and I don’t think it would be overly crowded anytime of the year. It was cold during our trip and not many people at all. Everything is fairly walkable from there. The playground is not in the campground, but is a 10 minute walk. As is the gift shop. The roads are sand and difficult for scooters but great for bikes. The beach is dog friendly as long as they’re on a leash. The dump station is a hike and not great for dragging a storage tank. I recommend using their facilities as much as possible. We didn’t have to dump until we left. The station is about 1/2 mile from the campground and not well marked. The access is also very tight. I’m in a diesel pusher and had about 5”-8” clearance on each side getting in and out of the dump at the gates. Once you’re inside the dump itself. It’s not bad. We have T-Mobile WiFi and had great reception. The tv antenna also picked up Savannah and Charleston stations very well.

Marie SehlI spent the day at the campground and swimming in the ocean. Very nice campground. Beach has LOTS of shells, next time I will wear water shoes to save my feet the beating they took. Camp sites come with water and electric hookups, a picnic table and fire pit. From what I saw, some of the sites were in full sun all day, some were nicely shaded. There is a grocery store, liquor store, and at least one restaurant near the park entrance. There was also a gas station closeby.
