Always in search of small town U.S.A. experiences for food, I hooked east from I-95 to Turbeville, SC. Becky's Cafe, located on Main St, is rather unassuming from the street, a one-time fuel station converted into a small restaurant. The interior is clean, but again, no frills. Open for lunch, Becky's features a small menu with typical small town favorites, including burgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders, etc. There is also a short buffet, featuring mashed potatoes, rice, beef pot roast, Salisbury steak, fried chicken, vegetables, and a few desserts. Do not pass on the buffet! For $13.95, you will not be disappointed. The food is excellent, with great flavor. Hometown cooking is served up at Becky's Cafe. The service was excellent, accompanied by southern charm and hospitality. Clearly, the locals eat at Becky's Cafe as just about everyone there knew each other and greeted friends warmly. I will mark Becky's Cafe as a favorite in Google Maps.
