Servers and the team working are lovely folks. I received a friendly and warm welcome when I arrived and it felt like I stepped into a family member's kitchen. Food wise. Nothing was impressive and nothing was bad. The price was reasonable too. The servings are generous. To give something comparable, its on par with grocery store bbq from the deli. Meat was tender but could've gone longer in the smoker. The banana pudding tasted like it was from a box. Corn bread was ok at best, a tad dry really. The mac and cheese was the best item by far but making good mac and cheese isn't impressive. The green beans were ok too. If you're close you, need a big bite, and traveling any further is absolutely out of the question, then this is the spot for you. If you are willing to drive a little further, just go to Swing & Swine. Its not amazing but it is much better and it has seating to boot. If you want amazing and flavorful bbq with seating. Head to Lewis BBQ & thank me later. EDIT In response to the owner's response, I feel the need to clarify. This was not a negative review. I said many good things and I could have said a lot worse. Overall, it was honest and if that hurts then thats fine. I took my order as carry out. There was no opportunity to talk to the owner after I drove miles back home to eat. I had other priorities that trumped calling a restaurant to ask for the owner to explain why I didnt like the food. I'm just not going to come back. I bought it and I didn't like it. Thats a risk I accepted the moment I swiped my card. I will definitely always advertise for other comparable businesses that work to perfect their craft and offer unique experiences for their patrons. I would have liked someone in your review section to have steered me away from your restaurant and to have provided a better option. Thats why I mentioned the establishments the way I did. If this review hurt your business, then that's a good thing. It invites competition. Without competition, no one gets better. If no one gets better, then subpar businesses keep their doors open longer. Thats not how things should be. New competition needs to enter a space to challenege older establishments. If those older establishments want to stay in business, then they adapt. Thats how competitive spaces work. I dont know if complacency has left your product lacking or if you've been here so long that your clientele is just loyal and keeping you in business. Regardless, if you don't like the fact that I think your services are subpar, that means your establishment should work to be more competitive in either price, taste, or amenities. All three would be my recommendation. A three star review isn't negative. It just means that it was OK and ultimately thats what my experience was at Baker's... purely ok. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great. It was just ok. There's a lot of places that are worse and a lot of places that are better. Oh and since I'm a bit fired up. Putting that much brown sugar on ribs is criminal.

Great BBQ at a reasonable price for the portions, the mustard sauce on the pulled pork or brisket is my go to along with their tomatoes and okra, red rice, and mac and cheese always satisfies for 2 or 3 meals. I would eat here every day if I could.

This was a out first visit and definitely not the last!!! The customer service was awesome. The food left us wanting more. We found ourselves trying each other's food. My youngest doesn't like meatloaf and wanted more of mine! The outdoor seating area next to the Koi pond was nice. We can't wait to go back!

Some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. I’ve been all across the South and I have had BBQ from many spots. Baker’s is a top tier spot that serves world class barbecue. It looks like how a BBQ spot should, the service is friendly, and the food blew my mind. I got the bbq pork sandwich, and it was probably the largest I’ve ever had. There was easily over a half pound of meat on it. The mustard sauce was perfect. The sides were great especially the Mac and Cheese. Make sure to get there early because they were out of some sides when I got there. This is not a complaint. It is a testament to how good the sides are.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We've been coming to Baker's BBQ for years, and it has never disappointed. Everything on the menu is delicious, but the hash is hands down the best you'll find anywhere in the Charleston area. It may be tucked away, but it's absolutely worth going out of your way for. Our favorites are the BBQ, brisket, hash and rice, and the meatloaf. The staff is always incredibly friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. If you're looking for authentic, consistently great barbecue, Baker's BBQ is an absolute MUST!!
