Had never eaten here. We ordered the street tacos. They're fantastic our waiter was fantastic David g Checked on us throughout the course of our meal our food was out pretty quick. They tasted really good. I don't know what I have but they had little tidbits of pineapple in it and it was fantastic... They're chips. Taste different than other places. I don't know what it is but they're really good. I don't give them five stars because the salsa they got to work on that needs a little bit more sugar and you definitely need to get some fire roasted tomatoes in it with just a little bit of heat. It was literally just pureed tomato with some cilantro... So let's work on that and we'll get you a five star. The restaurant was clean. It was busy but we didn't wait and we'll definitely be back
Jun 4, 2026 · Google ReviewI actually went to the new built one in Summerville. I see they don’t have a Google page yet. Experience was amazing we came all the way from Atlanta. Jess made sure all four birthdays were celebrated. Food was great as well as drinks. Highly recommend this restaurant. 10/10 experience. They sung us all happy birthday and since I don’t drink alcohol they created juice shots for us all. Thank you.
Apr 26, 2026 · Google ReviewAgaves Cantina was a nice spot once we found it, although the location was a little tricky because the maps were slightly off. Thankfully, there was plenty of parking which made things easier. They offer indoor, outdoor, and bar seating so there are plenty of options depending on the vibe you’re going for. Our server was super friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first visit. They walked us through the menu and made us feel welcome. The food was good, but I do think the pricing could be better. I ordered three street tacos for around $13, but they did not come with rice or beans. On top of that, a small 2 oz side of sour cream was $2.00 which felt a little excessive for such a small portion. Overall, the food tasted good and the service was great, but the prices felt a bit steep for what you actually get. I would come back, but I’d probably order differently next time.
Aug 6, 2025 · Google ReviewWe have loved Agave since moving here almost 3 years ago. In that time, there has been a significant decline in the quality of the food and service. My case in point: Due to our schedules, we mostly do takeout and bring it home. We actually go into the restaurant and order there (again just easier for us because of scheduling and we don’t use delivery services). I don’t know why but as we have continued, the quality of the food has become inconsistent. We usually order soup, a couple of quesadillas, and some queso to go with the chips - nothing particularly special. Unfortunately, there have been several times especially over this year that we have had to go back in because they didn’t put everything we ordered into the bag. We now check it before we leave the restaurant. Most times they don’t apologize, they just shrug their shoulders and say “oh or ok” and leave to get the replacement food. If we order anything like fajitas or anything more involved, we’ve noticed the quality has diminished. It is overcooked, mushy and usually onions are the lead ingredient. The consistency is lost. This has become the “norm” for us so we began sticking with the easy stuff just to make sure we get a better result. In the last 6 months, we actually have dined in 3 times. Each time we noticed (again) the decline within the establishment. We noticed that tables had not been cleaned after other diners had finished, food and other debris on the floor… we even tried to eat on the patio one evening - bird poop and cigarette butts were on the chairs and tables of at least 3 places we tried to sit. Of course we went back inside and found a table we could eat on. We decided that at that point, we would say something to the person in charge and then just not dine in for a while to see if or how things would improve. Recently, we decided to go in and dine. There were 4 people at the bar and 3 tables with diners so it wasn’t busy. We were seated immediately and then that’s where it began to decline: The server was polite but seemed rushed and had to come back to us several times because they had left out things we had requested like an additional knife to cut our meat or more ice for our drinks. When our food came, it was sloppy. It looked like it had been thrown on the plate. It was nothing like the photos on the website or menus - not even close. Because we were tired and just wanted some comfort food, we ignored it and tried to work around it. For me, I ordered the carnitas - but once again the onions were the majority of my dish. Carnitas are supposed to be in chunks but mine were shredded. Agaves usually has wonderful carnitas but these were greasy and looked like they had been cooked and rewarmed several times. They were also lukewarm not hot and appetizing. The rice was also cold and the beans were so liquefied , they had spread under the rice and meat. Needless to say, very unappetizing. So we put the majority of what we could into a box and brought it home to warm up - we put it into tortillas as a wrap - at least we would be able to not have any waste. You will see in the photo I took that the onions were overwhelming. Needless to say, something has changed and not for the better. It’s sad because we have enjoyed delicious meals there and have taken friends and family there as well. The quality and service definitely need attention. We hope they read the reviews and do something about them.
