I loved it. I went on a Date 💕
Jul 8, 2026 · Google ReviewI visited for July 4th weekend. I will start by saying the ants around the park were really bad and my kids got eaten up. I like to be transparent. Thats literally the only bad thing. There was so much other things to do, we were fine without the playground. The grounds were BEAUTIFUL. The cabin we stayed in...BEAUTIFUL. it had all the space and nice amenities. the people we met...AMAZING. you can paddleboat, kayak, n we saw lots of cute rare dogs.. I have to save the best for last...the park ranger was AMAZING! We tried to fish for the 1st time. He did everything he could to help set up the rods. I also ended up calling with many questions and his customer service was superb EVERYTIME. Everybody there was super nice but he was AMAZING. Well definitely be back
Jul 7, 2026 · Google ReviewBeautiful little State Park with nice camping and hiking opportunities. Swimming not so big a program.
Jul 3, 2026 · Google Review⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ Poinsett State Park has a lot of potential, but our experience was mixed. The park itself is beautiful, with a nice pond for fishing and swimming, and there are kayaks and boats available to rent. The camp store is well stocked, and the playground is a nice feature for families, although it was unfortunately covered with ants during our visit. The biggest issue was access to amenities. The camp store is only open during two short windows each day, about an hour each time. It happened to be closed when we wanted to visit, and several other campers mentioned that it doesn't always open on time. Since the camp store is also where you access the rental boats, those limited hours make it difficult to enjoy one of the park's main attractions. The campground layout was also disappointing. It feels like there are two separate camping areas, each originally intended to have its own bathhouse. Unfortunately, the bathhouse serving the front section was completely torn down and under construction during our visit. Campers in that area had to make a fairly long walk to the rear bathhouse, which wasn't ideal. The rear camping loop also has noticeably smaller campsites. Another challenge is the campground entrance road. It's paved but extremely narrow, with only one way in and out. There are several areas where it doesn't feel wide enough for two vehicles, especially if one is towing an RV, creating a bottleneck when traffic meets. Ultimately, we decided to cancel the remainder of our stay because of the campground conditions and the limited access to amenities. Once the bathhouse construction is complete and campground services return to normal, I think this park could offer a much better experience. The natural beauty is certainly there—it just wasn't enough to overcome the current inconveniences during our visit.

Jun 28, 2026 · Google ReviewBeautiful state park. The camp site was flat and level.
Jun 26, 2026 · Google ReviewWe've ridden over here from Sumter on our motorcycles twice in the past month or so. The pad thai is delicious!! The weekend menu is dinner only, which is fine because it's big enough for 3 meals! It's a nice ride and the food is so worth the distance.
