Fantastic park for trails. Beautiful. Peaceful. A small area for kids to swim but you can also paddle board. 25 miles of trails to choose from. To the right of the office are easier trails. To the left more of a challenge. Not hard but more challenging and more fun. Just be sure to grab a map from the ranger at the park office. That way you could see where the trails intertwine. Well worth my 2.5 hour drive.

Jul 22, 2026 · Google ReviewIt lived up to its name: "Mountains of the Midlands!" I hiked along with a group and we did the Knot Splice Trail. This was a great way to get some elevation in. The trails are marked well. A few limps and a couple of trees were down but wasn't too much of a hindrance. We did the trail backwards so the waterfall could be a reward. Bugs were not as bad or our repellent worked really well! Restrooms were near the office. Pack plenty of water, electrolytes. and snacks! Not many benches along this trail. Dry conditions today. This is a lovely park and I will be back to visit again! It has over 20 miles of trails, lake for fishing, kayaking, etc. there is a playground for kids and campgrounds. I only saw restrooms near the office and the playground. I saw a couple of dogs but not on the trail we did. We saw some riding bikes on the trail as well. It wasn't very crowded today. We started at 9:30 this morning.
Jul 19, 2026 · Google ReviewBeautiful park to get out and stroll in. Spanish Moss on the trees and a beautiful lake to canoe on. The Historic Mill remains were interesting too.
