Although I haven't lived here in more than 30 years, I return often to visit family and friends, and this hotel has become my first choice every time. It's become my home away from home whenever I'm in Sumter, and I look forward to staying here each time I return.||||I also love being right in the heart of downtown. There's something special about strolling through the quaint streets, popping into locally owned boutiques, and seeing businesses that have been part of the community since I was a little girl. Downtown Sumter has a warmth and authenticity that's hard to find, and staying at the Hyatt puts you right in the middle of it all.||||The hotel is consistently clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Cheryl has assembled an outstanding team. Jason, Loretta, and Mack, the security officer, are among the many people who make every stay memorable. They are always welcoming, professional, and genuinely happy to help. Their kindness and hospitality reflect the very best of Southern hospitality.||||One more bonus—the food is delicious! Whether you're grabbing breakfast before heading out or enjoying a meal during your stay, the quality is consistently good.||||If you're planning a visit to Sumter, I highly recommend Hyatt Place Downtown Sumter. It's a beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff, excellent food, and the kind of genuine hospitality that keeps guests coming back. James EcklesThis hotel is fantastic! The room was really nice, clean, and obviously recently renovated. The breakfast is free and probably one of the best I've had outside of resort buffets that are expensive. A waffle maker, good eggs and proteins, grits, bread and drink options. Good coffee. The staff is super helpful and there is a free laundry room as well. The price is objectively a little high but still a good value considering the breakfast, amenities, and location.
