Okay let me start by saying that the people who work here are really great. The doctor has made very wise decisions when it comes to hiring, that is certain. The reason I’m leaving three stars is because when I asked about them submitting a certificate of vision examination to the DMV on DMV’s online portal, I was told it would be an additional $20 AND that they’d print it out and I would still need to take it to the DMV. I’m incredibly disappointed at the nickel and diming they clearly practice all to print out a piece of paper. If the employee is available and is just sitting there, you are paying them regardless. If a customer needs one form which I’m assuming prepopulates with the information from my chart so the employee just locates my chart and prints out the single piece of paper, which should take no more than 1 minute and one piece of paper and I’m assuming you’re using toner and not an inkjet printer, all of the expenses are terribly small. It bothers me to no end that you’re going to charge $20 for that and on top of it I still have to take it to the dmv myself. Just ridiculous. I’m surprised you don’t charge us to make adjustments to our frames when they become loose on our heads. That tends to take more time than I would think printing out a piece of paper does. I’m just really quite disappointed in your practice of charging $20 to provide me with documentation of the work I’ve already paid you to perform. Next you’ll be charging us $20 for a copy of the receipt. Just terrible. I really miss the days before fee culture. I will not condone it by patronizing a company that I know practices it. With that said, again the people working here are knowledgeable and friendly, but it appears quite greedy. $20 for one piece of paper printed that I still have to take to the DMV myself, when there is an online portal in which the the eye office can submit and they still want $20. Haha. Just terrible. And the test and glasses ARE NOT cheap.

This was my first visit to this clinic, and overall, it was pleasant. Setting up my appointment was easy, I received a reminder call from a real person (as opposed to an automated/AI call), which I appreciate. Our insurance listed this clinic as one that accepts our insurance. I arrived early, was seen and my appointment happened very quickly. The staff were courteous. The best part by far is this clinic does NOT do the eye puff test! They use a different, newer technique. This and allowing me to decline the dilation drops are what will bring me back to this clinic. I am not giving 5 stars only because I mentioned that I'd brought 2 pairs of glasses with me (identical Rx) and wanted to know why these do not seem to help my vision equally. Both the front desk person and the Dr did not seem to want to explore or discuss possibilities or "test" my second pair as they had with my first pair. Also, I asked to look at new frames like the ones I was wearing, and was shown only 1 frame that was $800. No other options were suggested. I was forthcoming and said that was out of my price range, and that I'd look elsewhere, but did need my PD (pupillary distance). The kind team member totally understood/was accommodating. Just be prepared to pay an additional $20 for this 1-min long measurement. Parking is free (parking lot), wheelchair accessible, older building/clinic that is clean.

I had a great experience at this eye center. The staff was fast, professional, and flexible with walk-ins. They took the time to double-check everything to make sure my prescription and exam were accurate. I really appreciated how efficient and thorough they were. The entire staff at H Rubin Vision Center is exceptionally friendly and skilled. Everyone was welcoming and professional. The office runs like a well-oiled machine. What stood out the most, though, was how personable everyone was. They didn't just rush me through the appointment; they took the time to have a genuine conversation and make me feel valued as a person, not just another patient. The equipment is also state-of-the-art, and I felt completely confident in the care I received. An all-around wonderful experience. Y'all Rock!
