Darryl PressleyGood Times Good Food Good Golf at Great Prices Carolina Lake Golf Course has friendly staff and affordable rounds with cart. For example, the regular price for 18 holes - $20.00 with a cart with tiered pricing. So, if you have deep pockets know that you pay more than others. Money is relative here. Real Talk: To be fair CLGC is 3 1/2 to 5 depending on your mental attitude. So, if you're a real deal golfer, you know exactly what I mean. And if you've never been on a military base, you also see and feel the clean, disciplined and sterile aura of what some Southerners call, "Da' Base". I found all of golf's real challenges right here even if you're a pro golfer, amateur, or beginner. Yup, real golf! Distractions, lush areas, tight lies, followed by hardpan-clay areas in some fairways and around a few baked greens due to - popularity and charming southern - summer heat. Some holes are really long and some of the optical illusions will leave you pondering which club to use. Go figure. Another thing, don't go expecting pristine conditions like Augusta National otherwise you'll be disappointed. Oh yeah, one more thing. On the driving range, an outdoor Gold Standard Ball Tracer and Tracker is a great feature for practice or warmup. Last but not least and yes, more importantly, the dinning area has good food and is accommodating for midsized tournament groups.
