Known affectionately as Mason, this towering mason jar sculpture holds over 2,500 gallons and earned its Guinness World Record in 2016. It is not just a roadside attraction but a symbol of Summerville's claim as the birthplace of sweet tea. The sculpture is easy to miss if you are not looking for it, but once spotted, it delivers a quirky charm. The tea itself is not just for show. During festivals like the annual Sweet Tea Festival, Mason is filled with real tea and served to visitors. Locals take pride in the tradition, and as former Mayor Bill Collins once said, "Sweet tea is more than a drink. It is a way of life in Summerville." Whether you are a tea enthusiast or simply chasing roadside Americana like me, Mason offers a refreshing pause and a photo op that is both sincere and a little bit silly.

Charles CNeat little ‘hidden’ gem in Summerville SC. Plenty of other shops and stores around the block or so surrounding it that you can visit as well, but don’t go on a Sunday or most won’t be open, or will close very early.

Karis MoniqueIt’s very low key right outside the back of the garage in between the buildings. If you walk out toward shuckin shack turn right At biscuit belly and you will see it shortly on the right side. I was lost but I found it. I took my kids to take pictures out there very unique. If your visiting downtown Summerville stop by snap a few shots. It’s free to visit and park.
