While I was standing near the counter area with seating finishing an email, an employee abruptly stopped my friend’s transaction and, in a hostile and disrespectful tone, told me to leave because the area was “closed.” I acknowledged the statement and attempted to finish the final sentence of my email while waiting for the transaction to be completed. Instead of responding professionally, and returneing to the register to the register, completing the transaction and allowing me to exit when there was distance between him and myself, the employee escalated the situation, then turned around and yelled at me to leave immediately. I have never been spoken to in such a humiliating and degrading manner in a retail environment. The tone, volume, and conduct of this employee were unacceptable, especially considering that I was a paying customer who posed no disruption or safety concern. For context, I remained inside the store because it was late, and I did not feel safe waiting outside alone. Additionally, I have a serious spinal injury that required surgical fusion with rods, screws, and a plate following a near-fatal car accident less than four years ago. Standing for extended periods is physically difficult for me. When I requested the employee’s name in order to report the incident, he refused to provide it. For identification purposes only, the employee appeared to be of Asian descent. I provide this description solely to assist with locating the individual involved. This situation raises serious concerns regarding customer treatment, professionalism, and accountability. I was a legitimate customer using your services, making purchases, and waiting on an additional transaction. Being publicly confronted, yelled at, and effectively humiliated under those circumstances is unacceptable and reflects a breakdown in basic customer service standards. If I could describe this location in one word it would be GROSS! Gross food left out with no warmers, Gross floors you stuck to with every step alternating with gross mop water that smelled stagnant, Gross staff with terrible attitudes and basic customers service.
